Won't shift out of park

(2005 Acura TL)

Won't shift out of park . Have to push lock down to get out of park. Have already replaced brake switch . Could it need a new interlock solenoid ?

Yes, the solenoid could have failed. You can try to energize up the solenoid with a direct battery voltage and see if it works. If it doesn't move, replace it, bit if it's functioning the problem is with the wiring.

No it was not a bad solenoid . Once I got to it I found out that someone spilled coffee on the center console and it go into the solenoid . Cleaned it and lubed it . Works like a new one. Thank You !!!!
