Will a bad oil pressure switch stop it from starting

it will not start and the computer say thats bad

not really. the code never identifies a bad part just a failed system. you need a shop to help with the no start and then address the oil pressure issue.

i would say if you had no oil pressure .real or caused by bad gauge,the computer would not let engine start, on some engines oil sensor is in series with the ignition switch.
