Wife complains of a rough ride

(1999 Mercury Mountaineer)
We just had the upper and lower ball joints replaced, also we bought top of the line micheli tires and replaced the front shocks. The vehicle only has 49000 miles on it and it is a 99'. I know the vehicle sat for awhile because when we bought it it had 26000 miles on it, I know one of the worst thigs is for a car to sit, but she is still not happy with the ride quality and she's driving me nut's. Is there something I can do to make the ride smoother so she will be satisfied with her cadilac... err I mean 99' mercury mountaineer?

The Mountaineer up until the 2002 model is very much an old-style truck with an old-style suspension. The 2002 model is when refinement started in ride quality and making it more "car" like.

The original type tires are typically rough riding. You may need to get a set of good tires to get a better ride. Don't forget that it's not a Caddy, it's a truck and it''ll ride like a truck. Nice tires can improve the ride over the original type, though.
