Why would my Jeep Liberty be having a problem when I turn the key to start?

(2012 Jeep Liberty)
in Carlsbad, CA on October 17, 2012
Two different times now a month apart I go to start the car and it's like the battery is dead. The first time I got a jump and the second time I had called AAA and in the meantime kept turning the key and it finally started. I called the dealer and they told me there was nothing they could do unless it was basically caught in the act? What is happening here & why can't they help me?

sounds like you got either a bad starter or a loose wire going to the starter
