Why is my car revving up in drive?

When I switch from park to drive, it revs up like I am in park, my car moves a little bit when I do it but I do not want to blow up my engine, what could it be?

Low transmission fluid level .. Internal damage or failed internal components .

Perhaps you could check the owners manual, index is in the back pages of book, or you may have a car savvy friend that'll help you out... This can be a bit tricky for the average DIYer... IF fluid level is correct .. Suggest contacting auto repair shop as there is no user friendly fixes beyond that... Good luck!
