My car doesn't get enough power when you step on the gas could it be cause of the mass air flow circuit

It could be but it can also be a few dozen other things as well. Best bet is to scan for trouble codes and report back your findings.

“Limp in” mode is your vehicle’s attempt to limit your driving to limping into a repair center for service.
