Why is my AC only running occasionally or not at all?

(2007 Nissan Murano)
in Roanoke Rapids, NC on June 20, 2013
Recently in shop. Replaced sensor, relay & blower motor. Did not fix it. Mechanic said 2 fuses for the AC should put out 12 volts currently only doing 1 volt. Problem started about 1 month ago taking longer for AC to come on. Then 2 weeks seldom comes on but works and cools fine until car is cut off. Then will not come back on again.

Have a MECHANIC check for proper voltage and ground at the compressor terminal connector with system on max. IF--'IF' present then most likely the clutch field coil is weak or deffective! Sometimes a simple tap, by a 'mechanic', on the clutch plate will activate the compressor clutch and it will work until switched off again. This is one possible cause of intermittent compressor operation, and may/should have been tested already! You can check to see if it has been. NOT for DIY testing!!!!!
