Could it be the compressor

It could be the compressor. Did you have the system charged while it was not blowing cold or before? One way to check is to turn the a/c on and feel the a/c lines under the hood. The larger diameter one is the low pressure line and it should get cold. The thinner high pressure line will be very warm. The best way to check the compressor however is with a set of gauges.
