Why eating gas & no power, car stalling out.

(1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse)
in Powder Springs, GA on May 31, 2011
replaced manuel engine with japanese manuel engine. Had wireing problem. Repair shop did extensive changes to get car running. Car worked ok, but did not have same power (no whistling sound from turbocharger) as before. While driving recently, car started to stall out when foot not on gas pedal. Now car top speed (5th gear) 50-55mph..sluggish, and gas consumption has gone from approx 30mpg...to approx 9mpg. Failed emissions, code 1105 (vacuum hose, fuel solenoid, wireing problem), my research indcates its not the fuel solenoid...please advise

You have a difficult problem and will need a Mitsubishi specialist to help you. It sounds like there was some mismatch between engine installations and you'll need a savvy Mitsu expert to sort it out. You have a very complex problem there.
