Why does the seatbelts hold you tight to the seat when driving

most of the time i cant even reach the radio

It may be a defect in the ratcheting mechanism in the seat belt, compare it to the passenger side bring it to a auto repair shop and get it checked/replaced.

you may have some debri in the racket assm. like coins or kids stuff if you have kids
