Why are my anti-lock and trac off lights on + service engine soon

(1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue)
It's a grinding noise from brakes and the steering column has felt stiff plus it's been idling low

Hello,
Before we get into the weeds on this, I'll just say that you are likely having several different issues.
The steering feeling stiff, noise from the brakes, and ABS/TC issues are not likely to be related, and the low engine idle is certainly not.
Your best bet is to bring the vehicle to a certified technician for diagnostics.
