Where is the thermostat located on this car I have a v6

(2007 Mercury Milan)
in Warren, MI on October 24, 2011
I get heat but it takes a lot longer than it used to so I tohught it might be the thermostat, is this a good idea

Follow the top radiator hose to the t/stat housing, three bolts secure the housing to engine.
