Where is the ground located for a 1989 chevy truck for the back up lights change

(1990 Chevrolet 1500 Pickup)

changed the switch twice worked as soon as i put in then quit, put in a second switch worked great put it in gear in reverse several times worked good went to put in garage quit working agin

Hello, if you are tracing wiring and seeking locations, I would get a hold of a wiring diagram for your vehicle. This is the only real way to be able to find what you are seeking. There is no real way on this forum to try and seek and post a location of a ground, unfortunately...even if this was the solution to your concern, which it certainly may not be.
