Where is the cam shaft position sensor located on a 97 Jetta GLX?

DO YOU HAVE ANY CODES AND REMEMBER CODES DON'T MEAN ITS THE SENSOR ALWAYS BUT THAT CIRCUIT ISSUE COULD BE WIRING OR SOMETHING ELSE.

I took it to Auto Zone.

I took it to Auto Zone and they did their little test thing and the read-out code said it was the sensor.I cannot find the code right now. I thought I kept it. I will take it back and have it tested again if I can't find it. Thanx for the info!

Im sorry but I dont know what needs to be done to change the sensor but to get you started the camshaft position sensor is located in the distributor.
