I have an olsmobile 2003 alero, and my mechanic said these parts are required, also a valve cover gasket, and fuel pump.

2.2 engine? Get another opinion!! Cams and valve train just dont sound right. Timing componets and gaskets, yes!

Yes , those are all parts you may find on your engine.........Is your mechanic doing a re-build , or just an oil change (deluxe package)? And yes he's correct in stating that many of those parts are 'required' to operate together as designed in order for it to run right.
