What’s the latest - up to date - replacement prom I’d or reference number ?

What was the latest prom issued to correct (what problem) ?

Need the *scan id number* of present prom before we can help.

Then it can be cross referenced to the updated prom.

You have got to follow a numerical sequence to get the prom .. It’s all about the numbers!

How do I get the prom Id or reference number?

What's a *scan Id number* and could you give me an example (ie. 36 24 36)?

Well those are indeed ‘very good’ numbers - however not what we need (for the car) ..

Find an old school ~ experienced mechanic that’s got a Snap-On scan tool - that shouldn’t be too hard to do - have mechanic scan computer and get the *scan id number* for the prom - mechanic has a cross reference booklet to look up the latest and most up to date prom - it also gives the GM part number and what problems the updated prom was issued to correct.

Once that number is discovered - the replacement prom can be found.

Keep in mind this procedure is used to correct certain drivability issues that are prom related as per TSB ( Technical Service Bulletin) which, as stated, will also be listed in the cross reference booklet.

I have said scanner and cross reference booklet - but I’m on the other coast.

I’ve also been doing auto repair for a ‘very long time’ - I feel sure you can find a mechanic with similar experience.

Good luck!
