I have found pushrods advice to be very solid. Reading the comments the wire harness check near the compressor is where I would inspect closely as Mr pushrod suggested.

So you think it may be the wire harness near the compressor, what should I be looking for? Thanks

Does the A/C work ok if switched on while driving down highway @ 55 mph?
on May 25, 2016
No, it won't come on if I'm already driving
on May 25, 2016
Ok, that tells me it's not an air flow problem across A/C condenser ... Have system refrigerant charge tested.

Yes, it been recently done, funny thing is, the rear ac blows cold because it has dual ac. If I'm in the driveway with the ac on, it's cold, as soon as I back out and put it in drive the compressor stops.

That's not possible!! .. There is only ONE compressor, therefore if the compressor turns OFF then the rear A/C can't work either! .. Perhaps the air just stops blowing out of the dash vents and starts comming out of the defroster vents instead... Check it by placing your hand on top of dash to see if the air is blowing out there.

What I did is I got out of the vehicle and looked at the compressor and it wasn't turning, then I had my wife turn it to off and on position and it came on.

Don't make sense.. It shouldn't do that at all.. I'll have to ponder on that one awhile! .. Next time try wiring harness wiggle test to see if compressor switches back on by itself.. It's going to be something out of the norm!

My father in law mentioned something about a solenoid valve, you anything about that? It blows ice cold if I'm parked but when I drive off it blows hot instantly.
on May 25, 2016
No not really, once the compressor is turned on and it starts working plus cooling good .. then it it should continue to work until switched off!

Is there a relay switch or something like that?
on May 25, 2016
There is a relay but that shouldn't cause your problem .. Maybe can switch it out with another just like it .. > Under hood in fuse/relay box... Relay Id should be on box top or in owners manual.
on May 25, 2016
Would it be the fuse panel under the hood on the driver side. Can you let me know if you think of anything else. Do you have a shop?

Yes to all questions, I'm in Virginia.. Been doing it a VERY long time! .. **Reply here** and if I think of anything else I will let you know! .. Plus some of the others may have some input... Since you didn't reply I'll post this anyway.. When compressor has stopped .. Test for battery voltage at the compressor clutch wire connector .. IF unable to do any testing, seek qualified hands-on help!
If the AC clutch or bearing is on its way out it could have a hard time engaging under a load. When the engine is idling the crank will turn the belt at a slower RPM. When you hit the gas those RPMs will be higher so if the AC compressor clutch is starting to wear and slip it may only do that when the clutch has to work harder to lock the compressor and pulley together i.e. when the engine is running at a high RPM. Unfortunately it can be hard to find parts for just an AC clutch so its likely you will have to replace the compressor if thats the issue

Is there a way to have the compressor checked out first?
on May 26, 2016
Simply test for battery voltage at the compressor clutch coil wire connector .. Read my last reply!

Ok thank you sir, I will definitely check it out, thanks for all the info
