You will start getting signs of wear by noises from the timing chain. loose chain, tensioners making noise and water pump problems. Mileage is not always the factor as much as listening to the story the engine is telling. The key is don't wait when the signs start, this is a interference engine. It is much cheaper to fix before the chain jumps then after.
