Repair shop says to replace both wheel bearings but only right front one is making noise? Do you have to do both?

I hear this repair method often, and I disagree with it when it refers to sealed wheel bearings, which is what you have. It's very rare for both bearings to fail at the same time, so I always replace the one that is bad. The worst thing is the other one starts making noise later on and you have it replaced. You don't save very much, except your time by having to return at a later date to have it replaced.
