What all is involved with changing from a 2.5 to a 4.0 engine. We are unable to locate an engine replacement at 2.5 so want to know where we can find out about what all is necessary to change to 4.0

It is a big job, it is a new Computer and new wiring harness ( 4 cyl vs 6 cyl ) Have you tried Jeep? I used to buy new motors from Jeep for the 2.5 liter engines. They work really hard and tend to wear out. What about rebuilding your old motor? A good Engine Machine Shop could do it for about $1500 or less, not including taking out the old motor and putting the rebuilt one back in to the Jeep.
