What would cause my ABS light to ocassionally come on?

My ABS ligh come on and ha done so since I purchased the car new in 2004. At first it was when the brakes got went when it was raining. Now it is of and on. Not only when I am stopping but also when I am driving. The brakes and rotors are in good shape.

It is possible that one of the sensors was never properly set or tightened down or one of the tone rings was defective with a small warp or crack in it right from the start. Need to check to be sure.
