Brake pedal feels spongy ! The pedal goes almost all the way to the floor before it brakes

Rear brakes not adjusted correctly. Brake fluid leak, most likely rear wheel cylinders. Air in system due to leaks. Master cylinder. These are the most likely places to start looking. But the vehicle is 12 years old and rust could have taken its toll anywhere.
