What sealant do I use between the timing chain cover and the block? coolant leak

(1990 Dodge Dakota)
in Niagara Falls, NY on April 10, 2015
I have a 3.9L V6. that develops a coolant leak between the aluminum timing chain cover and the iron block. I can get it sealed up with PERMATEX silicone sealants & a new gasket but the leak reappears after about 12 to 18 months.
What I need is a more effective sealant?

From reading the other postings, I am guessing they are having the same problem. Timing chain cover to block. It mimics a water pump gasket, which actually is not that difficult to fix and stays fixed. You cannot tell it is the timing chain cover until you take it off & examine the old gasket?

Back to my issue. I need a better sealant than the PERMATEX silicone stuff I have been using. HELP

i would use a mopar engine rtv sealant i got 2 part numbers, try these 05010884ac or gray color which i prefer 82300234ab, ur gonna hav to go to dealership, and a lil hint if ur timing cover mates up to ur block and ur bottom seal has to seal 90 degree corners put a good bead on them corners, and use ur sealant on block side of gasket and dont use to much, and torque to spec, let me no if it doesnt work out, thanx

Thanks for taking the time to help. I think I have it sealed up, once again, so it may be a little while before I get to use your sealant (hopefully). I will keep your response and let you know.
