I was very pleased with the overall experience. Brought our truck in for a oil/filter change, tire rotation and check of the overdrive. All services were performed in a timely manner. Everything checked out fine and I was informed that the brakes would need service in the near future, but was happy there was no big sales pitch or pressure to have it done then and there. The counter guy was extremely helpful and shuttle service back home was offered if I chose not to wait on premises.

Bill was great! He was professional and personable. He explained what they had done. When I had to return due to the problem reoccurring he acknowledged that they had missed something and did the repair without charging. The store also had a shuttle service that had a courteous and friendly driver.

Customer service was extremely satisfactory, the shop had not only diagnosed my car's problems correctly whereas other repair shops were without clues, they also pointed out other problems that my car has. West El Cajon Auto did not try to push me to have those additional problems fixed at their shop. They advised what should get repaired as soon as I can. I left them my car for a couple of days for the repairs and was very happy with the repairs after I took it home. The technicians and the shop manager were very professional, knowledgeable and personable. West El Cajon Automotive and Transmission will be my number 1 go to shop from now on.

They are really nice there, but I took my car there twice spent about 1,800.00, not including car rental. Both times I told them there is a whining noise in the front right of my engine. It continues after I turn it off. Last time I picked it up it was still there, when I pulled into the garage it was loud. I did need tires and brake pads and they fixed it so my check engine light went off the first time. I am not spending any more time off work, money on car rental and more money on this 2003 ford escape.

They performed the maintenance as requested. They also provided feedback on repairs recommended by the dealer repair shop, which West El Cajon Automotive found were not needed. The dealer had been telling me that I needed shock and struts each time I went in for oil change.

Considering another shop advised my car needs a new engine ($4,000.00) and Bill at West El Cajon found the issue was merely a partially blocked radiator ($400), yes, these guys are good.

There is no spoecific know failure for these seats, you could have a motor problem, a short or something as simple as a blown fuse. Normally we would check to see what temp the thermostat is opening at it is more likly a thermostat that has failed and is stuck open or is opening to soon, with out proper test equipment to check the temp sensor for the PCM it is hard to tell if the sensor is having a problem.

Sounds Like a relay that is starting to fail, Recommend getting it diagnosed properly to prevent replacing good componets. Sounds like the vehicle failed functional because the check engine light did not come on when they check to see if it works during the functional parts of the test. Getting the no start relay problem fixed should cure your smog failure for functional propblem

I agree, the Knock sensor will not be the cause of this problem, It can be several conditions causing this problem, I would recommend to have the vehicle diagnosed by a facility that is qualified. Possible causes range from fuel, to ignition to a TCC Problem
