The vehicle air bags may not deploy as proper during an accident, which would result in increased risk of occupant injury. This is due to possible corrosion and failure of the air bag control unit.

Recalls on your Volkswagen must be performed by a Volkswagen dealership. Volkswagen will notify owners of affected vehicles (a timetable for this notification is not available as of the time of this writing). If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Volkswagen dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
