On December 29, 2016, Volkswagen recalled 5,901 Volkswagen Golf. Volkswagen group of america, inc. (volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2017 audi a7, a4, a6, volkswagen golf and tiguan vehicles and 2016 volkswagen e-golf vehicles for driver frontal air bags, passenger frontal air bags or head air bags that may not deploy properly. additionally, certain 2017 audi q7, a4 sedan, a4 allroad, and 2018 audi q5 vehicles are being recalled because the seat belt pretensioners may not activate properly.

Both frontal air bags as well as the head air bags may not properly deploy in an accident. Also, the seat belt pretensioners may not properly deploy in an accident. This would increase risk of occupant injury in an accident.

Recall repairs on your Audi or Volkswagen must be performed by an Audi or Volkswagen dealership, respectively. Audi and Volkswagen will notify known owners of affected vehicles (a timetable of this notification is not available as of the time of this writing).
