(2004 Mercury Monterey)
in Hibbing, MN on December 09, 2013
Had a misfire in cylinder 3, changed plugs and wires and then coil pack. Now van is backfiring during acceleration. Could the wires be on in the wrong order?

Most likely they are crossed! OLD COIL PACK IS NUMBERED, look at it!! Now, looking at the enging while standing in front of van, the cylinders back near the windshield are,1-2-3 from your left to your right. ------The cylinders up front near you are 4-5-6 from your left to your right! Put them on the new coil pack at the proper position according to the old 'numbered' coil pack!
