<p>The speedometer or other instrument panel gauge may begin to work erratically at times. Our technicians tell us that the instrument cluster must be sent to a repair facility to correct this fault. The warranty has been extended on some of these units to 7 years or 70,000 miles.</p>

<p>The daytime running lights are prone to burning out. Our technicians tell us that the light sockets may show signs of heat damage but usually are OK. Always be sure to use the correct replacement bulb for the best life expectancy. The new bulb recommendation for 2002-2003 models is #4114K (trade number).</p>

Problem Reported: ABS Light Due to ABS Control Module Failure

<p><span class="ct_glossary tooltip">The anti-lock brake system </span><a id="ce_5545" class="ct_selected tooltip" href="/abs-control-module"><span class="ct_glossary tooltip">(ABS) Control Unit</span></a> has a high failure rate. When this fault occurs, the <a id="ce_9165" class="ct_selected tooltip" href="/abs-warning-light">ABS light</a> will illuminate and codes may be stored indicating a problem with the <a id="ce_9523" class="ct_glossary tooltip" href="/abs-pump">ABS Pump Motor</a>, or <a id="ce_5546" class="ct_glossary tooltip" href="/abs-wheel-speed-sensor">Wheel Speed Sensors</a>, but the problem is the ABS Control Module.</p> <p>Other symptoms may include an illuminated Check Engine and transmission shift light. and the speedometer may stop working as well.</p> <p>Note: The brake system will operate normally however during a panic stop the Anti Lock Brakes will not work and the wheels may lock-up, causing a lack of vehicle control under these situations.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
