Question Asked: I bought a brand new 2003 ML500 that was held by Customs.

Everything works, sound brand new and only have 500 km on the clock.
After a month of arrival and use, the key came apart and the ML 500 would not start again. I tried the following.
1. change the battery on the ML
2. change the battery on the remote key.
3. reassemble the key to make sure nothing is missing.
Been suggested to make sure the remote works on the door and when I turn the car keys on the dash board lights up. all ok.
I even turn the key to on position and when the lights come on I held the remote control key down for 20 seconds. still nothing and don't start.
I cant take the car in a dealership as there is no dealer here in Samoa.
Anyone have a suggestion before I can arrange for an engineer from overseas to sort out the problem. This may be a more expensive option.
