Question Asked: steering wheel
March 10, 2010, 07:00 AM
I replaced the steering column last week. After I was done I saw the wheel was about 90 degrees off.(1/4 turn). I could understand half turn off but this one puzzles me. What is the best way to adjust this to get it straight again? Should I re-align it by the tee rods? or is there a better way?

Question Asked: vacuum resevoir

There is a black box under the right front fender. It actually wraps around the horn. Chrysler calls it a vacuum res. It has a vac. line plugged into it. Can you tell me where the other end goes to. It also has a plug (vacuum also) in the milddle of the line that plugs into something. It is a formed vac.line but I can't see where it goes to. Thanks Ted
Question Asked: steering column replacement
February 25, 2010, 06:44 PM
I just finished replacing the whole steering column in my van. When I try to start it, it cranks like it wants to start but then it won't. The digital odometer turns to all zeros when this happens. Also the airbag flashes. The security light flashes also. When the column came in it did not have the airbag in it. I put my old one in myself after I completed the column replacement. This doesn't have a chip in the ignition so I don't think it needs to be re-programed. The exact same thing happened when I tried to start it before I installed the airbag.
Question Asked: windshield removal
February 24, 2010, 12:41 PM
I am trying to replace the windshield on my 04 astro van. I have been slicing the adhesive around the windowshield and got to the center of the top of it. It seems to have a metalic piece in the center about 12" long that I cannot get my knife through. The corners are free and the sides are loose, but the top center is stuck, I tried pushing, but the glass is breaking. I don't care about the glass, I have a replacement, it's the mess and glass shards I don't want.. can anyone help me out?

if you are going to try it, be sure to disconnect the battery before you start. Very important, so it won't trigger when you are working. I just did mine and found it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be, and it was a first for me.

Car Review: 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser
March 03, 2010, 12:10 PM
I have had at least 5 PT Cruisers, I just sold one that had 125K on it, no trouble at all. The others were used when I bought them and I have had great success with them. They have enough power (all non-turbo) and good gas mileage (25mpg). Some folks complain about wobble etc. CHECK YOUR TIRES! I just replaced 2 front tires because of flat spots on a 07.that my wife loves and drives. The tires appeared to have a lot of life left, the car has 30K miles.Head lights glazed over on 01, got some 1200 grit wet sand paper and polished them back up, They also sell a kit at the auto store that will polish them.
