Question Asked: Speedometer sticking and dash lights coming on after hitting a bump in road.
June 12, 2010, 04:52 PM
A couple of years ago i noticed that when i had a load in the bed or pulling my 19' boat and i hit a large bump in the road the speedometer would bounce and sometimes the ABS light would come on along with the brake light and ABS light. At the time that it did this, the speedometer would stick on the speed that i was currently going. I would need to stop the truck and turn the key off and on several times to get it to reset everything. Recently this is occurring every time I drive the truck even with no load or trailer and over the smallest little bump in the road. I can get it to reset but it takes at least ten times and then it will not reset until you start moving again. Then within a quarter mile or so and another bump it will do it again. I have never seen a vehicle do this. Can you help? It has 46,000 miles on it and it is a 4X4, 4 door model.

Car Review: 2005 Dodge Dakota

I have had my Dodge Dokota 4X4 Crew cab for 4 years now and thoroughly enjoy driving it. It has been a fantastic truck and plan to keep it for at least another 5 years or so.
