Q: Burping/Bleeding on 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood

Heat used to work fine but since replacing the water pump I have no heat. I replaced the thermostat also but since this is a Closed System I was told that it needs to be burped or bled but not told how to burp or bleed the system. can you help please? It's getting very cold up here by the Great Lakes

Burping the cooling system consists of getting the engine warm, opening up the radiator cap, and allowing the air (and lots of hot coolant!) out. Use extreme care as you can get burned severely. You repeat the process until there is no more air coming out when you open the cap. An air pocket can cause a lack of heat issue...but so can other cooling system issues.
