Trouble starting my 1997 Dakota

(1997 Dodge Dakota)
in Washington Court House, OH on March 27, 2011
When I try to start the truck it cranks and acts like it's going to start but won't. I have to hold the gas peddle down to start the truck as soon as I let off the gas it dies.

Check for too much air or not enough fuel. Fuel pressure check - and leak down check. Check for vacuum leaks, disconnected hoses, etc under the hood. Good luck.

A sticking open idle control valve could allow air into a cold engine, too, causing trouble.
