Transmission selector lever is stiff operating

(1999 Cadillac DeVille)
Since cold weather the transmission selector lever is very stiff to operate. Is there a linkage that can be lubricated or is the problem in the transmission?

Your cadillac has a combination brake light / auto trans shifter lock switch located on the brake pedal AC Delco # 12450036 costs about $10, Maybe when its cold it acts up.

The exact same thing happens to my car only when its cold outside. Let the car warm up a little and it should be ok.....nothing to worry about
