On February 19, 2016, Toyota recalled 1,123,752 Toyota RAV4. Toyota motor engineering & manufacturing (toyota) is recalling certain model year 2006-2012 rav4 vehicles manufactured july 28, 2005, to december 19, 2012, and 2012-2014 rav4 ev vehicles manufactured july 24, 2012, to august 29, 2014. in the event of a frontal collision, the rear seat belts for the outboard seats may be cut by the seat cushion frame.

The seat belts for the rear outboard seats may be cut by the seat cushion frame during a frontal collision, resulting in the rear seat occupants not being secured properly. This would cause increased risk of injury.

Recalls on your Toyota must be performed by a Toyota dealership. Toyota will begin notifying owners of affected vehicles beginning in March, 2016. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Toyota dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
