The rear suspension arms that support proper wheel direction adjustment and rear alignment adjustment may have lock nuts that are not properly secured. This can result in the arms failing and loss of vehicle control, which can lead to a crash.

Toyota is recalling 2006 through 2011 RAV4 and 2010 Lexus HS250h passenger vehicles. During servicing of the rear suspension of your car, if the fasteners are not tightened properly, unwanted movement and rust can develop leading to component failure and loss of vehicle control.

Because the remedy for this concern is still being developed by Toyota, no owner notification is being sent at this time. Notification will be sent when remedy and necessary parts (if any) are in place. Owners are however, advised to contact their local Toyota or Lexus dealer if they notice any abnormal noise from the rear suspension area.
