1996 Toyota Camry Recalls
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE STEERING WHEEL SET NUT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN SUFFICIENTLY TIGHTENED CAUSING STEERING VIBRATION AND LOOSENESS.
Toyota is recalling 1996 Camry models because the plastic material of the bulb holders of the rear tail light assembly does not have sufficient heat resistance. When the bulb is illuminated, the resulting high temperature can cause the bulb holder to deform. This may cause the bulb to lose electrical contact and become inoperative, increasing the risk of an accident. Dealers will inspect and replace the bulb holder and harness if necessary.
Toyota is recalling 1996 T100, Camry, Celica, Corolla, and Tacoma models because the cruise control system may fail to hold the speed set by the driver and can accelerate above the intended set speed. This can increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the cruise control assemblies.
