Timing belts replacement

(2004 Hyundai Elantra)
I received an estimate at $293. A month later I called back to confirm the estimate. Was now told $474. They said that they change the components also, that is why the price was higher. Is it necessay to change these other components at this time, which I beleive they said the wheels and pulleys. If these don't get changed, does that void the 10 year engine warranty. Also I noticed they said that sometimes the water pump is change right away too. Is that just for economical reasons, or does it need to be changed at this time. Thanks

I'm not 100% sure about your car, but generally when a good technician does a timing belt, they do change any tensioners and even the water pump. The reason they do this is that the amount of labor to change a water pump is the same as the timing belt, and it's really high--and therefore expensive.

The water pump part is actually not that expensive, relative to the labor, so it is cheap insurance against the possibility of the old water pump failing and having to do that labor all over again.
