Thermostat gauge reading overheating

(1999 Ford F-150)
thermostat gauge on car keeps reading that the car is overheating but its not boiling over even after the themostat, radiator cap, and the clutch on the fan has been changed.

use a infrared temp gun and verify temperature.it is possible that you have a sending unit failure.
