The turn signals on my 2006 Caravan are mal-functioning.

The turn signals stopped working properly for no apparent reason. Sometimes the left signal will turn on when I move the switch up to make a right hand turn. Some times they will not work at all in either direction. Some times the light on the dash will come on and stay on and the signals don't work at all. I am thinking the turn signal switch assembly needs to be replaced. Are there any other causes for this problem that I should look for before I replace the switch?

There is probably a problem with the turn signal module, which controls all of the turn signals in the car. It may not be as easy as a simple switch.
