The steering wheel won't adjust

(2001 Acura RL)
in Jacksonville, FL on August 04, 2010
The steering wheel adjustment stopped working. I move the adjustment switch and nothing happens. There is a slight clicking noise when holding the adjustment switch. The steering wheel is stuck in the far up position. The auto switch doesn't work either.

The steering column needs to be disassembled to see what has failed. A motor and rack linkage is used to retract and move the steering wheel, I have seen one fail I forget what I replaced but you will have to remove the plastic trim panels around the steering wheel to inspect.

I removed the steering panels and checked the motor and linkage. Their are two motor and linkage. The one closest to the driver is very hot and the other one is cold. That is the only thing I could find. Is it normal for the motor to be so hot?
