The heater and a/c isn't putting out any air

(1990 Acura Legend)
in Spokane, WA on November 23, 2011
I have no defrost it used to come on once in a while out of the blue but now it seems to never want to come on now that it is cold. Is there an easy solution to troubleshoot the control panel or blower motor? I have checked the fuse and it is fine. It also seemed when it did come on that the speed was only 1speed like medium. I would appreciate the help it's too scary to drive with no defrost and it is my only car. Thanks

you can unplug the blower motor and connect a 12volt hot wire from the battery to check if the motor is working. sounds like the fan speed resistor is bad. It controls the speed of the blower motor, if it goes bad the motor won't run, or may only run in one or more speeds.
