The gas gauge is not working all the time what can I check for this?

I put gas in the car and it does not register correctly. could this be a sensor problem?

i have a 2005 envoy the fuelguage sensor is bad.part number 19178477. thiss si a recall by gmc .

recomend you have fuel tank droped and change out fuel level sensor. It a common problem with these GM SUV. there is a recall out for this problem.

yes the recall is for level sensors contact wear.

more than likley its the sending unit in the gas tank but a lot of times you have to get the whole unit with fuel pump which could get expensive
