The dealer says I should get the extended warranty on my 2015 Corolla to cover it. Consumer Reports says generally the warranties don't pay off--but that may not take into account the Florida issues. What do you think? Should I buy the warranty? \ (The form above wouldn't let me enter Corolla so I just picked RAV4--whatever that is.)

Ask that dealer IF 'other makes' electrical systems are adversely affected by the climate in Florida! .. IF the reply is yes.. say you'll check into that! ..Just saying.. Now I can't say if you should buy the extra warranty or not, that is your choice! However IF you choose to, get ALL the details in writing, read and then decide!
Consumer reports is right , however , working at a dealer myself (mechanic) , I have seen a few cases where it did payoff to have it.Extended warranties ARE a moneymaker for them , but if you don't have easy cash (or sadly , credit for most) reserves to fix a sudden large unexpected repair , then as pushrod said READ CAREFULLY and make sure it covers ELECTRICAL powertrain & drivetrain , then decide. Good luck.
Florida weather issues ??? What kind of weather issues would those be ? Sounds like a big load of baloney to me. A pathetic attempt to sell an extra cost protection plan. What would be different about the weather in Georgia or Louisiana or South Carolina ? My Florida vehicles are fine and in fact are in far better overall condition than any vehicle I ever owned in the Northeast !
