how to install my tachometer in my auto corolla 89 where there is no line for rpm..

Connect the tachometer to the - side of the ignition coil, this is the RPM signal.

If my coil is mounted inside the distributor cap along with the wire connecting the coil to the rotor, is it possible to connect a tach? I'd like to test/set the idle rpms
