Stop light switch

(1990 Buick Regal)
in Mays Landing, NJ on March 30, 2010
need to replace my stop light switch, I had someone put a new one in and as soon as I drove away it stoped working again, he had trouble putting it in to begin with, said he never seen on of this type and one that the whole steering column had to be taken down, has been a mechanic for 30 years too, Im wondering if he screwed it up or if it's another problem

I had the same problem it was a nite mare some thing in the steering column was causing the problem at this moment I can't recall exactly what it was but I will repost later for sure. This caused me so much grief I'd hate to see someone else go thru it.
