Sticking left front brake

(1999 Volvo V70 XC)
in Baldwin City, KS on March 02, 2011
Just noticed after 10 mile drive. Car slows down quickly without coasting. Felt all disks when I got home. All but the left front disk was relatively cool. Left front sizzling hot. How do I unsieze? How far can I drive this to a mechanic if I can't repair/relace myself?

While still hot will be hard to move. When cools may move easier but every time you apply the brakes the heat builds again. You have a caliper seizing on you. Should replace in pairs and clean/lube caliper and pad mount with high temp lube. Make sure to flush brake fluid front and rear. Hopefully the master cylinder will be ok.
