How much does it generally cost to repair a rod bearing job? The main bearings were not damaged. The crank has a scratch.

Basically you have to replace the Crank Shaft. It is pretty hard to repair a Crank Shaft that 'spun' a Bearing, even a rod bearing. You will also have to replace the Connecting Rod, which means removing the Piston. Its a big job. If the Engine has over 100k, I would just replace the Engine because other Rod bearings will 'spin' and you will have to do the whole job over unless you replace all the rods etc. Was the Rod Bearing Oil Starved ? Why did it fail?
