Q: Speedometer on 1995 Toyota Corolla

My son has a 95 Toyota Corolla. The speedometer doesn't move when he is driving. What is wrong with his car? He did take it in and the place said that they don't do this kind of work. Also his driver side door doesn't lock. Who could he take this to to get it fixed. The car has 161000 on it

A good independent repair shop should be able and willing to do this kind of repair work. It's strange that you go the answer you did.

The speedometer could be a problem with either the gauge or the vehicle speed sensor. There are a number of reasons the lock could no longer be working. You really just need a good, honest shop to fix both of these things for you.
