Q: Speedometer on 2004 Chevrolet Impala

Rookie cbe0621eac06868b3efe0d8d1d3611e23c60d3114864ea2ec19a68cfbd3eebab
My speedometer has stopped working. It was irratic for awhile. The dial has gone below zero, but it still seems to register (and move the dial) as I speed up. What could the problem be?

The most likely cause is an internal problem with the cluster. If this is the case the cluster will need to be removed and sent to a special repair shop for repair or to get an exchange unit. This is very common on the 03-06 GMs. The cause is the motors behind the gauges are failing, they all go out eventually. You can get it repaired here - www.drspeedometer.com and there's a DIY guide here - www.howtorepairmyinstrumentcluster.com
